Prepare the fatted calf

The prodigal son has returned!

Although I've been away for awhile my time nor money was squandered. For the past week or so my time with God has been filled with reassurance. There are requests that I have brought before him numerous times.

Just recently I've felt that he has finally answered my prayers. He has not answered yes or no, but with a be patient. Past experience has taught me that when you follow his answer to any request the results are better than originally wanted.

I'm Proud

If you have read Kimmy's post then you know what we were involved with today. I was grieving for my in-law's, since I haven't had the chance to get to know that side of the family.

I have always had respect for the armed forces especially the Marine Corps, since my grandpa served in the Marines during WWII in Okinawa. I broke down a little while watching the ceremony of taps & the folding and presentation of the flag. I have so much more respect for my grandpa and the Marines, not just because of today, but because of what I have read in my researching of the Corps.

I know this is were a Star Wars quote is usually inserted, but I think this is more appropriate.

THE MARINE CORPS MOTTO

?Semper Fidelis? (?Always Faithful?) is the motto of the Corps. That Marines have lived up to this motto is proved by the fact that there has never been a mutiny, or even the thought of one, among U.S. Marines.

Darn It!

Why do we check out new shows? Okay, new to us but not the world. Tonight we officially have become hooked on Smallville. In the past I have had mixed feelings on the whole Superman thing, but I think I need to reevaluate my opinion. So, I'll probably start picking up comic books as well as catching up on the show.

Also the new Superman movie, unless things have changed, will star Kevin Spacey as Lex Luthor. Which is pretty cool.

I'm certainly making up for missing five days haven't I.

O' Brother Where Art I

Seems like days since I sat down to do this, and to be honest I almost forget how. I'm starting to think that maybe getting my wife a Mac was the wrong idea. Lately if the Mac is open and I try to say something, Shhhhhhh is all I get. Well, not really but I like to tease her about all the hours of posting and reading posts she puts in.

On to what has been on my mind since driving home today. I decided today to give a borrowed CD a chance in the player, I still stand by my first thought of this group. Which is and will probably always be negative. As I tried to listen intently to them I found myself growing with disgust. They are no different than any other run of the mill CCM artist. There is nothing that this group has to offer that already hasn't been put on the table. In my opinion a new group should have something different to offer the world, and present their lyrics (even if the subject is something we need to hear over and over again) in a different way. Like Tourniquet saying "Glowing hand reaches down from Heaven" instead of "He touched me" same thing said, but in a more thought provoking way. Now I know this group is right for certain people, but as for me I need something a little more different.

Foreign Objects

Before the stroll down to the Columbiana Street Fair, we had our usual nice visit with my parents. What made this visit a little different were the objects my dad brought back from Korea. For starters my father spent 44,000 dollars at a Korean shop on pens, mugs and chopsticks. Okay, he actually didn't spend dollars he spent wons, and one dollar is equal 1,000 won.

The pen set we received writes beautifully, even though I know it will not help the appearance of my writing. It's funny that one pen looks like it has Firefly cursing written on it, and the other has the famous people from Mahjong sets.

Well, I'm off to do what ever this day may bring.

The Face Cake of Laverne

Tonight we enjoyed back to back episodes of Scrubs with a nice big bowl of popcorn. Now I'm just sitting here just trying to think of something to say without much success. Bing, The light bulb just came on, so here I go with what's on my mind.

I pulled out the latest Petra album Jekyll & Hyde again for my listening pleasure, and this is one of their best projects. The album combines their past sound with sounds of the future, even though the future of Petra will not be lasting long. My mom told me a few days ago that Petra is retiring and that one of their final shows will be in Youngstown.

I just want to say so long to Petra and thank you for all the years of that music called rock n' roll.

Back to it all

The staying up late and sleeping in has ended. At least I only have three days to finish out the week. I don't have much on my mind, in a way I'm doing this so peps will not have to remind me to post. Maybe something will come to me tomorrow.

The Amazing Happened

Well, maybe not the amazing but it was certainly rare. I, Kevin sadly fell asleep during a movie last night. (insert gasps here) I think we were only a half hour into it when it hit me like a shower of liquid heaven. Then all of a sudden I hear a heavenly voice calling my name "Kevin wake up." My immediate response was "I'm awake I'm doing just fine." Then I watched about two more minutes of the movie, and Wham! I'm asleep again. Next thing I know the heavenly voice starts again "Are you awake." and "Lets just go to bed." I quickly replied "No I'm awake. I can watch the movie." in hopes of actually accomplishing it.

Needless to say I finally conceded to my wife's heavenly voice, and went to bed. We'll most likely start over and finish the movie today. Well, time to quit writing and maybe play Zelda or watch Transformers before church.

Oh Happy Day

Today starts the college football season. GO BUCKEYES!

The day started with a call from my mom this morning. She called to let us know that my dad would be home this afternoon instead of Monday. For those of you that don't know, my dad was in South Korea for the week on a business trip. Going to South Korea must have been exciting, and I look forward to hearing about it when the jet lag lets go of him. I think it would be hard to get back to a northeast Ohio sleep schedule, since he will be repeating a day. Yep, that's right he crossed the international dateline on this trip, which would have to screw up the bodily system.

Another thing that I thought was really neat was the restaurants my dad got to eat at. The first one my mom told me about was a traditional sit on the floor with a midget legged table and coal cook center. The Korean's must have felt bad for my dad so the next restaurant he got to eat at had chairs, Hooray dad!, but the tables were still vertically challenged. Once seated in a chair my dad noticed holes in the floor for his legs to go into. I bet he's glad to come back to normal sized tables and non spicy food.

WELCOME HOME DAD!

Holy Cow

Now I know that cows are only holy in India, but at this hour I felt like saying it. Also, the holy cow is for my lack of posting. I have been a very bad person. My love was probably going to flip out on me like a ninja if I didn't post soon. I really have nothing of value to say or type since this is an online thing. It's getting very late, and I can tell because I'm just rambling like I do when I get tired. So, I'll hopefully post something more interesting later.
